Hi Teacher Friends!
We made it to Christmas break. We all know that Christmas break is a wonderful time.
Here are a few pictures of some of the fun we had in kindergarten leading up to Christmas break.
Each year we paint gingerbread cutouts. This is a plain pattern I ran on brown card stock. (I found the brown card stock in the scrapbook section at Walmart.) The kids used q-tips to add the details with washable tempera paint. To save time, I had the gingerbread men cut out before painting.
This fun Santa puppet is from the December book by Teacher's Friend. The kids had so much fun completing these puppets.
Our reindeer are made from the TLC Winter book. We love completing TLC projects in kindergarten. We just had to add red glitter to the nose.
This is a little numeral order practice. The kids had to color, cut, and order the numerals from 21-30 before gluing the numerals to a sentence strip.
The last pictures show some sorting fun we had. This mat is from Learning Resources. It has the graph on one side and the Venn diagrams on the other side. This center was set up for those early finishers. I think it was the real bows that made this so fun. The kids sorted, sorted, and sorted some more. I have seen on lots of teacher sites the idea of using real, seasonal items as manipulatives. The kids LOVED it.
We hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas with family and friends.
