School Words Freebie

Hi Teacher Friends!  Don't you just love summer vacation?  As much as we enjoy our jobs teaching, it is so nice to have the summer days off.  Even though school is out, we are still working on things for our classrooms and making plans for next school year.

We have another freebie to share with you.  It is a school words theme write the room center.  We have included lots of school words to help welcome your new kindergarten students to school.  We just uploaded it to our TpT store.  We hope you are able to use this with your students.  :)  Here are a few pictures of the cards.

Here is the link if you would like to check it out.

Once again, we used the amazing clipart from KPM Doodles.  Her artwork is so-o-o cute and it just says "kindergarten" to us.  Please check out her sites to see all her clipart sets.

Stay cool this summer.

Recess Rules Book and Pocket Chart Version

Hi Teacher Friends!  We have been working on a few things to use once we start back to school in August.  We just posted our book about rules for the playground to our TpT store.  This book will be great to use as you teach your students rules and expectations for the playground.  Some of the expectations we have included are the very important line up when the whistle is blown, go down the slide feet first, and take turns.  We have also included a pocket chart version of the story with picture and text cards.  If you would like to check it out here is the link to our TpT store.

We used the cutest clipart from Melonheadz Illustrating to create this book.  She has the cutest set called "Playground Pals".  It is just perfect for kindergarten and shows the right way to use the playground equipment.  Please check out her sites.

We hope everyone is enjoying the summer days.  Please check back soon for our latest freebie for you.  We appreciate all the kind comments we have received since we started blogging.  Teacher Friends are the BEST!  :)

Class Graph Freebie

Hi Teacher Friends!  We hope everyone is enjoying the summer days off from school.  We have another freebie to share with you.  This freebie is a class graph to create with your students.  We always create a how many boys and how many girls graph at the beginning of each new school year.

This is a photo of a sample we created this summer.  (So sorry I didn't save our class graph from this past year, nor did I take a picture.)  We like to use index cards or sticky notes for graphing.  They are a perfect size and another added bonus is you don't have to cut them out. :)   If a student needs to start over, just pull another sticky note off the stack or hand them another index card.  Easy.  Have your students draw a self portrait or have them write their name on the note/card and then place the note/card on the graph.  We have included the headings, a graphing page and an analyzing the graph data page in this freebie.

Here is the link to our TpT store if you would like this freebie.

We used the oh so cute clipart "Classroom Helpers" set from KPM Doodles to make the graph headings cute as can be.  Please check out her sites at and  Her art work is adorable.

The cute clipart we used in this emergent reader and pocket chart story is from KPM Doodles.  Please check out her sites at and

Sight Word Freebie

Hi Teacher Friends!  We wanted to share a freebie with you so you can get this center ready for next school year when we are all back in the classroom.  :)   If you refer to sight words as "popcorn" words with your students, this center is just right for you.  We found this super cute popcorn bucket at the Target dollar spot and knew this would make a cute center for sight words.

We hope your students enjoy practicing their sight words. You can grab this freebie here.  Thank you all.

Hope everyone is enjoying summer break!

Zoo Field Trip Fun

Hi Teacher Friends!  Before our school year ended, we took a kindergarten field trip to the zoo.  This was the first year that our principal suggested we take the little ones on a field trip on one of the days the big kids were completing state testing.  We were glad to have this opportunity.  Usually we have to be so quiet in the building while the testing is going on.   Being quiet is not so easy for kindergarten.

We saw this giraffe waiting to be fed.  You could pay a dollar a leaf and feed the giraffe.  We wanted to do this but the line was so-o-o-o long.  Maybe next time.

We saw these zebras grazing in the morning sun.

The kids were fascinated watching these two kangaroos boxing and playing around.

This little guy climbed right up and posed for us as we walked by.

This slow moving tortoise was a favorite with the kids.

We created an emergent reader to use with the kinderkids.  It practices lots of sight words and focuses on sight words "what" and "saw".  We recently posted the reader on TpT.  If your are interested in the zoo emergent reader, you may check it out at our TpT store.  Here is the link if you want to take a look.

The clipart used in the emergent reader is from KPM Doodles.  Her artwork is adorable.  Please check out her sites at and

Hope everyone is enjoying their summer break.  :)
