Sight Word Practice

Here is a fun idea for practicing sight words.  The kids love doing this center each year.  Place sight words inside of plastic Easter eggs.  The kids take turns opening an egg and reading the sight word.  Then they practice writing the sight word on dry erase boards.  This center is always a hit.  It combines two favorite things for kindergarten, marker boards and plastic Easter eggs!

There are lots of different skills the kids could work on with this center.  You could place addition problems, CVC words, alphabet letter cards or numeral cards inside the eggs for the kids to practice.  The list could go on and on.  Just type the practice material, print it, and then cut to fit.  One of my kindergarten co-workers types simple sight word sentences and places them inside the eggs for a reading center.  Love that idea!

If you are interested, this activity and more are in our April centers packet on TpT.

Hope everyone has a great weekend.  :)
